Un front se construit cellule par cellule

Membership of the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation is a free and individual act. It is recorded at every level and opens the way to taking part in the life of the movement, to standing for office and to political training.

Key points

Membership of the Front is open to any person meeting four conditions: Congolese nationality, eighteen years of age, good moral standing, adherence to the ideals of the Front and no incompatible membership. It is individual, free, without discrimination, and recorded at every level: the issuing of the membership card concludes the process.

Conditions

Who may join

  • Be a Congolese national aged at least eighteen.
  • Be of good moral character.
  • Share the ideals set out in the Front's statutes.
  • Not be affiliated with any other political formation incompatible with the Front's line.
Principle

No discrimination

Rights and duties

Sections and cells

Two tiers to root the Front

The Section operates at the level of territories, rural groupings and towns. The Cell operates at the level of neighbourhoods and villages. Each level has a council that deliberates and a committee that executes.

Tier 01

The Section

Tier 02

The Cell

Cell committee: a chair, a secretary, a coordinator for women, a coordinator for young people and two councillors. Cell committees meet once a week, summoned by their chair.

Youth Union

Raising a generation

A specialised body responsible for the political training and mentoring of young people, for mobilisation, culture, sport and assistance. Statutory objective: to enable young Congolese citizens to fulfil their civic duties.

Women's Union

Guaranteeing half of the movement

A specialised body responsible for the political training and mentoring of women. Equal opportunity is a principle of the Front: women are represented at every level, from the cell to the executive committee.

Diaspora
Outside the country

Congolese abroad, stakeholders in the refoundation

Les fédérations du Front sont constituées sur le territoire national et hors du territoire national par les Congolais vivant à l'étranger et leurs descendants. Le retour digne des réfugiés et des exilés politiques est une exigence du programme : la diaspora en est un levier.

Federations outside the country

One federation per country or group of countries where the Congolese community is established, with the same bodies and the same discipline as at national level.

Consultation framework

A permanent framework for consultation between the diaspora, the provinces and the leadership, so that the experience and the expertise of the diaspora are reflected in decision-making.

Return and resettlement

Support for political exiles and refugees who choose to return, in safety and dignity, in accordance with the commitments of the programme.

Questions
Frequently asked questions

What we are asked most

Who can join?

Any person of Congolese nationality, aged eighteen or over, of good moral standing, who shares the ideals set out in the Front's statutes and is not affiliated to any other incompatible political formation. Membership is open without any discrimination on grounds of race, ethnicity, tribe, sex or religion.

How do I submit a membership application?

The membership form is downloadable as a Word document and as a PDF, to be filled in and returned to [email protected]. An online version is also available on this page. The General Secretariat processes the application and refers it to the competent section or cell.

What are the two levels of the Front?

The section, at territorial level, and the cell, at local level. The issuing of the membership card concludes the membership process, and membership is recorded at every level. Members are equal in rights and duties: they can access every mandate, question their leaders and be elected.
